OBI ASIKA
Obi Asika has been a tireless advocate and a key driver of the creative industries in Nigeria for more than 30 years. Recognized by millions across Africa as a Judge on the popular Nigerian Idol TV show, Obi Asika’s greatest impact in the creative sector has been as a builder, investor and visionary leader. Mr Asika is a renowned executive producer for live events, music, tv and more, he has produced the largest festivals, platforms and global reality formats and was instrumental to the globalization of Nigerian music.
Obi Asika built Storm 360/Storm Records into one of the most successful entertainment brands, ushering in the first wave of global success for Nigerian music artists and producing the biggest international franchise TV productions on the continent. He was Executive Producer Big Brother Naija, 2006, The Apprentice Africa 2008, Naija Sings 2009-2012, and many more. In 2012, he co-founded Social Media Week Lagos, which became the biggest new media and technology conference in Africa and in the realm of sports, he led a company that managed the sponsor rights and event management for the FIFA U20 World Cup in 1999, as well as the CAN 2000 hosted by Nigeria and Ghana. Mr Asika is a non executive director of Sport Nigeria, a non-profit which evolved from the NESG process which developed a sports policy for Nigeria.
In 2015, Obi Asika became the first person appointed by the President to a Cabinet-rank position overseeing the portfolio of digital policy and social media. He has served on more than 15 Government committees across different Administrations since 2006, including Chairman, Technical Sub-Committee of the Federal Government of Nigeria Audience Measurement Committee, 2020; National Coordinator, Technical Working Group, Culture, Creativity, Hospitality & Tourism, Nigeria Agenda 2050; Member, Review of Nigeria Broadcast Corporation Code 2020 and Member, Board of Trustees of the Nigerian Olympic Committee since 2022.
Obi Asika has also contributed to the development of the creative and cultural space through his leadership as a founding director of the board of the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON), Trustee, Online Publishing Association of Nigeria, co-founder of the Africa Soft Power Project and founder of Iba Ajie arts and innovation hub in Onitsha. Mr Asika also served as part of the core private sector leaders who collaborated to give birth to the National Start up Act., He is the convener of The Omniverse which is driving cross sector collaboration driven by the technology, start up and creative industries.
An internationally renowned thought-leader on the African creative and cultural inidustries, Obi Asika was appointed in 2014 to the Advisory Board of the Smithsonian Museum of African Art in Washington, D.C. and currently sits on the board of Africa No Filter and DAAR Communications. Additionally, he is a regular public speaker and he has been a speaker of panelist for major forums including presentations at the London Business School, Harvard Business School, Wharton School of Business, MIT, Corporate Council on Africa USA-Africa Summit, Soccerex, The Nigerian Economic Summit, The NBA conference, Wimbiz among others.
A recipient of numerous local and international honours, Obi Asika was recognized by the African Leadership Network in 2012; he was named by top US publication Black Enterprise as one of their 100 Modern Men in 2016, and inducted into the Afrobeats Hall of Fame in 2021.
Mr Asika is happily married to Yets Asika and they are blessed with Nuli their wonderful daughter.
Mr Asika holds the ancient traditional title of Ojinnaka from the Agbalanze Ozo Society of Onitsha which he took in 1994.
His appointment as DG was announced by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, on January 12th, 2024.

Adeline Nankwat Fompun
Director, Human Resource Management
Born on 18th May, 1965 at Panyam, Plateau State. Attended Fatima Private School, Jos and obtained Schools leaving Certificate in 1977. Graduated at Girls’ High School, Gindiri in 1982. Graduated with a diploma in law from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1985. Obtained a Bachelor of Art degree in History from the University of Jos in 1989 and Master of Art degree in African history from the University of Portharcourt in 2010. Joined NCAC in 1995. Currently, Director, Human Resource Management at the National Council for Arts and Culture.

Sanusi Shuaibu Abdullahi
Director of Finance and Accounts
Sanusi Shuaibu Abdullahi was born on 31st March, 1966 in Jos, Plateau State. He attended Naraguta LSB, Baptist High School and university of Jos, Plateau State.He also attended school of Leather Technology, Zaria as well as University of Calabar. He is a certified National Accountant and presently the Director of Finance and Accounts, National Council for Arts & Culture.

Ngozi Rosemary Akande
Director and the Head of the Arts and Craft Department
Ngozi Rosemary Akande, (Ph.D) born on May 28, 1965, is a prolific Nigerian artist who uses her art as an advocacy for women rights and empowerment. She is a community organizer and a mentor to younger women, children and artists through her art workshops, art competitions and career exposés. She is a researcher on contemporary and modern African art; She holds a B.A in Painting, M.A in Art History, and a Ph.D in Art History from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. Nigeria. Ngozi was one of the Nigerian visual artists exhibited in 1992 by “Guinness Unity Through Art”.
Her Art work “Life’s First Food” which featured at the exhibition was collected by the World Health Organization (WHO) and used as a campaign poster to promote exclusive breast feeding in Nigeria for over 10 years. She is a UNESCO Resilient Artist and has won several awards such as: Rare Gem from the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) in 2016, Lagos State Ambassador Award in 2017, Society of Nigerian Artists (SNA) Award in 2018 and Art Alliance 51 Award 2021. She is the country convener of the Nigerian Art Olympiad. Ngozi Akande is a Director and the Head of the Arts and Craft Department since 2021; she joined the National Council for Arts and Culture in 1997. The Department is charged with the preservation, exposition and conservation of the National Collections of Nigerian Arts and Crafts.

Rosemary Ada Urrah
Director Performing Arts
Born on 18th June 1967, in Otukpo, Benue State. Attended Saint Mary primary school. Attended College of Education(NCE) Katsina – Ala, Benue State, also attended Benue State University, obtained a Bachelor degree . B.A Theatre Arts (Acting) and Nasarawa State University, obtained Msc in Security and Strategic Studies (in view).
Joined NCAC in 1992.

Mrs. Patricia Okoronkwo
